We’re really sorry, but the Grimshaw exhibition in the Art Gallery and the West Wing of the Rotunda Museum are currently closed due to water leaks following recent heavy rainfall. We’re working to open them again as soon as possible – thanks for your understanding.

Lower Key Stage 2

Become an archaeologist and discover Scarborough’s Mesolithic site, Star Carr, using a range of sources and artefacts to find out what it was like to live in the Stone Age. Handle real Stone Age objects, dress up like a prehistoric person and learn how to use evidence of the earliest house ever discovered in Britain to find out how archaeologists can reconstruct shelters.

  • Pupils will learn about the changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age
  • Pupils will make a local history study

2 hour workshop – £80
