We’re really sorry, but the Grimshaw exhibition in the Art Gallery and the West Wing of the Rotunda Museum are currently closed due to water leaks following recent heavy rainfall. We’re working to open them again as soon as possible – thanks for your understanding.

Stories of Remembrance

Woodend Gallery and Studios

Created by Animated Objects, a display of three wire soldiers alongside some of the thousands of poppies created by members of local communities for the centenary of Armistice in 2018.

Accompanying the sculptures is a soundtrack of poetry composed by local children reflecting their thoughts on Remembrance and the First World War.

The sculptures and supporting outreach project were created by Scarborough company Animated Objects and are part of a wider sculpture trail around the town for the Armed Forces Day National Event, commissioned by Scarborough Borough Council
