We’re really sorry, but the Grimshaw exhibition in the Art Gallery and the West Wing of the Rotunda Museum are currently closed due to water leaks following recent heavy rainfall. We’re working to open them again as soon as possible – thanks for your understanding.

Resurrecting Ancient Egypt: A Monumental Yorkshire Journey

5 November 2022—18 March 2023Free with an Annual Pass (£3 / Free under 18s and registered carers)

Scarborough Art Gallery

A Touring Exhibition from Barnsley Museums

This exclusively commissioned body of work by Jennifer Robertson LRPS and Lynne Fletcher who work collaboratively as Kyte Photography, designed and curated by Professor Joann Fletcher, looks at the Egyptian inspired architecture found throughout Yorkshire. It reflects the West’s enduring fascination with Egypt’s ancient monuments, long regarded as the ultimate symbols of immortality, copied and constructed for centuries right across Europe.

This exhibition is located on the first floor of the gallery. There are 23 steps to this floor and at the moment we do not have a lift to access this level.

Toilets are located on the first floor and are accessed via the stairs. There is an accessible toilet next door, a short distance away, at Woodend Gallery and Studios.
