We’re really sorry, but the Grimshaw exhibition in the Art Gallery and the West Wing of the Rotunda Museum are currently closed due to water leaks following recent heavy rainfall. We’re working to open them again as soon as possible – thanks for your understanding.

September 2022

Since its launch in April 2022, Space to Be at Scarborough Art Gallery has welcomed lots of visitors including our good friends, Blueberry Academy.

In the summer 2022, a special event was hosted in Space to thank Blueberry Academy trainees for a film they made to welcome visitors to Scarborough Art Gallery. The film has been one of the most watched on the Scarborough Museums YouTube and had lots of views and engagement on social media.

You can watch the film below:

At the event in the summer, trainees and staff watched a special screening of the film, whilst enjoying popcorn and snacks. After the screening, the room was transformed for a silent disco. The Blueberry team and Scarborough Museums staff danced along to 90s pop classics and a string of Country and Western songs, chosen by Seb from Blueberry. For most of the boogie-ers, this was the first time they’d experienced a silent disco, and it was definitely a first for the gallery!
